Question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of 5 April 2011, Official Report, column 893W, on financial services, when he expects to receive letters from the remuneration committee chair of each bank confirming its commitments as part of Project Merlin have been met.
Answer

The Remuneration Committee chair of each bank has written to the Financial Services Authority to confirm that their firm's 2010 pay settlements are consistent with the commitments in the Merlin statement.
