- To ask the Secretary of State for International Development how much his Department spent on taxi fares for staff in (a) the UK and (b) the rest of the world in the latest year for which figures are available.

The Department for International Development (DFID) spent £192,784 on taxi fares in financial year 2010-11, a further breakdown of spend between the UK and the rest of the world cannot be provided without incurring a disproportionate cost.All expenditure is incurred in accordance with the principles of Managing Public Money and the Treasury handbook on Regularity and Propriety.
