Climate Change: Taiwan

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what his policy is on participation by Taiwan in discussions on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Answer

The Government support Taiwan's practical participation in international organisations where this does not require statehood. Taiwan is currently represented at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meetings by a non-governmental organisation, the Industrial Technology Research Institute.
