Charities Act 2006

Question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office when he expects to announce (a) his review of the Charities Act 2006 and (b) the objectives and process for this review; and if he will make a statement.
Answer

In line with the requirement in section 73 of the Charities Act 2006, Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts has been appointed to undertake the review of the Charities Act 2006. The review will be independent and broad in scope, and I have arranged for a copy of the review terms of reference to be placed in the House Library. Lord Hodgson will set out in due course how charities and other interested parties can contribute to the review. The review is expected to report before the summer recess in 2012, and the report of the review will be laid before Parliament.
