- (2) how many (a) letters and (b) emails his Department has received on Abdelbaset al-Megrahi.

The release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi on compassionate grounds was a matter for Scottish Ministers. I have had no discussions with either my Scottish or Libyan counterparts regarding his status.My Department was recently a copy recipient of one letter regarding the status of Mr al-Megrahi. No e-mails have been received.
