- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice (1) what recent discussions he has had with his (a) Scottish and (b) Libyan counterpart regarding the status of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi;

The release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi on compassionate grounds was a matter for Scottish Ministers. I have had no discussions with either my Scottish or Libyan counterparts regarding his status.My Department was recently a copy recipient of one letter regarding the status of Mr al-Megrahi. No e-mails have been received.
