Lockerbie: Bombings

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice (1) what recent discussions he has had with his (a) Scottish and (b) Libyan counterpart regarding the status of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi;
Answer

The release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi on compassionate grounds was a matter for Scottish Ministers. I have had no discussions with either my Scottish or Libyan counterparts regarding his status.My Department was recently a copy recipient of one letter regarding the status of Mr al-Megrahi. No e-mails have been received.
