To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Freud on 14 November (WA 104), whether Atos Healthcare nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists who assess employment and support allowance claimants are qualified to diagnose objective neurological signs.
Answer

Atos Healthcare nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists who assess employment and support allowance claimants are not required to diagnose conditions. They provide advice based on the disabling effects of a condition on an individual.
