Finance: Virgin Money

- To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether Mr Wilbur Ross will require the approval of the Financial Services Authority as a person exercising significant influence over Northern Rock plc following the sale of that company to Virgin Money.

As part of the Financial Services Authority's (FSA) approval of the transaction, the FSA is undertaking its change in controller process, which includes appropriate assessment of persons who control 10 per cent or more of the Virgin consortium, the new proposed controller of Northern Rock.
