Syria: Asylum

- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what reports he has received on (a) the number of Syrian refugees arriving in Turkey and (b) provisions being made for such refugees; and if he will make a statement.

According to the Turkish Government, the highest number of refugees recorded reached 20,000 in June. The Turkish Government and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) have now reported that there are 8,400 refugees remaining.The UNHCR and Turkish Red Crescent provide tents, sleeping mats, hot meals and education (with Arabic curriculum play areas) and medical care.
