- To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills how much funding the Council for Science and Technology (CST) (a) received in 2010-11 and (b) will receive in 2011-12; what estimate he has made of the number of full-time equivalent staff working for the CST in each year; and if he will make a statement.

£47,000 was spent on the activities of the Council for Science and Technology (CST) in 2010-11. The budget for 2011-12 is £50,000. No staff work directly for the CST which is an advisory non-departmental public body. The staff in the CST Secretariat are employed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Three full-time equivalent staff worked in the CST Secretariat in both 2010-11 and 2011-12.
