Diamond Jubilee 2012: Medals
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what estimate he has made of the number of recipients of the Queen's diamond jubilee medal; and what the cost to the public purse will be.
- Answer

We expect that between 400,000 and 450,000 medals will be produced. Production will be based on a unit cost of around £16 per medal, and we therefore estimate that the total cost to Government could be in the region of £7 million to £8 million.
