Serbia: Kosovo

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he is taking to encourage Serbia to improve relations and co-operation with Kosovo.

Answer: Ministers and officials use every opportunity to encourage Serbia to improve relations and co-operation with Kosovo. We do so in our bilateral meetings, by repeatedly reiterating our strong support for the EU-facilitated dialogue between the two countries, and by ensuring that the EU conditionality which requires potential EU candidates to ensure good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation, is upheld. We also encourage Serbia to demonstrate a constructive and responsible approach to relations with Kosovo in regional and international fora.
