- To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport whether his Department has made an assessment of the adequacy of book stock levels in public libraries.

Public library statistics are published by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, and reports that book stocks on 31 March 2011 stood at over 78 million volumes, or 1.5 books per person.
