Tax Allowances: Pensions

- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the total level of tax relief on pension contributions by higher rate taxpayers in (a) 2010-11 and (b) 2011-12; and what estimate he has made of the amount of relief in each of the next three years.

Estimates of the total level of tax relief on pension contributions by higher rate taxpayers from 2010-11 to 2013-14 are given in the following table. They assume an unchanged tax regime after 2011-12. Estimates for 2014-15 are not considered to be reliable.
