Afghanistan
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he has made of the threat to UK national security arising from the activities of the Taliban.

The Government's considered assessment remains that without the current presence of international forces in Afghanistan, al-Qaeda, and those willing to offer them sanctuary, would be able to re-establish themselves and the threat of terrorism from the region, including to the UK, would rise.
