Diamond Jubilee 2012
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport who determines the eligibility criteria for the Queen's jubilee medal; and if consideration was given to making it available to personnel who were serving in the armed forces when Her Majesty ascended the throne.

The eligibility criteria for the diamond jubilee medal were agreed across Government and received Royal Assent. All agreed that with the exception of Victoria and George Cross holders, the diamond jubilee medal should only be awarded to members of the armed forces serving on 6 February 2012 and who have completed five years service.
