- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) how many sixth form colleges which are not related to a school or academy paid VAT on purchases in the last period for which figures are available;

In common with everyone else, including academy colleges, sixth form colleges pay VAT on purchases. Their VAT costs are taken into account within the funding allocation. There are no plans to allow sixth form colleges to waive VAT on purchases or to introduce a scheme to refund the VAT costs.
