- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what steps he is taking to support the cartoon animation industry in the UK.
- Answer
-
We have introduced the Creative Industries Council and maintained existing direct support for film including filmed animation through the national lottery and film tax relief. Building on this success, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, my right hon. Friend the Member for Tatton (Mr Osborne), announced the introduction of similar tax reliefs for the video games, animation and high-end TV production sectors at the last Budget.
