Israel: Palestinians

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what estimate his Department has made of the number of Palestinian children held in Israeli prisons.
Answer

The latest information held by the British consulate-general in Jerusalem indicates that the Israeli authorities are currently holding 166 Palestinian children in Israeli prisons. All the children are boys; no girls are being held. Of these, 140 are in the age range 16-18 years, and 26 are under 16 years old.
