Unemployment: Speech Therapy

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what estimate he has made of the number of qualified speech therapists who are unemployed.

Answer: I have been asked to reply on behalf of the Cabinet Office.The information requested falls within the responsibility of the UK Statistics Authority. I have asked the authority to reply.Letter from Stephen Penneck, dated April 2012:"As Director General for the Office for National Statistics, I have been asked to reply to your Parliamentary Question asking what estimate he has made of the number of qualified speech therapists who are unemployed. 105241""Estimates of the number of unemployed people are derived from the Labour Force Survey (LFS). Unfortunately estimates of those qualified as speech therapists are not available."
