Coroners and Justice Act 2009
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice when he plans to bring into force the provisions of section 50 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.
- Answer
-
Implementation of section 50, and the related provisions in sections 12 and 13 of the 2009 Act, depends on the timing of the chief coroner taking up post. I hope to be able to make an announcement shortly about the chief coroner and the timetable for implementing Part 1 of the 2009 Act.
