Public Sector: Procurement

- To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office if he will give consideration to requiring companies bidding for public sector contracts to submit their tax records for scrutiny as a part of the process; and if he will make a statement.

The public procurement rules require suppliers to be excluded if they (or directors or other persons with control) have been convicted of various specific offences, which include "cheating the Revenue" and "fraudulent evasion".There are further grounds for exclusion, including failure to fulfil obligations related to payment of tax.
