Answer: Mr. Flynn: To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how much his Department has spent on (a) publicity, (b) promotion and (c) hospitality in each of the last six years. [40615] Mr. Burt: I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave the hon. Member for Gordon (Mr. Bruce) on 25 April, Official Report, column 249. Unfortunately, there was a typographical error in the answer I gave relating to the total amount of expenditure on publicity for the year 1994-95. The information is not available in the format requested as it is not possible to separate promotional activities from publicity undertaken. Such information as is available is in the lists.
