Mrs. Wise: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been extradited for trial on charges of child sexual abuse; and to which countries. [1362] Mr. Kirkhope: The figures for extradition to stand trial on charges of child sexual abuse from England, Wales and Northern Ireland since 1986 are: To the United States 1986: 1 1987: 1 1993: 1 1996: 1 To Germany 1996: 1 To Holland 1995: 1. The Home Office has three outstanding requests--two from the United States and one from Belgium--for extradition to stand trial on charges of child sexual abuse.
