Sir Keith Speed: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is his estimate of the latest vehicle flow on the M20 motorway at Ashford. [1999] Mr. Watts: I have asked the chief executive of the Highways Agency to write to my hon. Friend. Letter from Mr. Lawrie Haynes to Mr. Keith Speed, dated 5 November 1996: The Secretary of State for Transport has asked me to reply to your recent question about traffic flows on the M20 at Ashford. The Highways Agency does not have traffic counters on the M20 between Junction 9 (Ashford East) and Junction 10 (Ashford West). However, the 1995 Annual Average Daily Traffic flow on the adjoining section between Hollingbourne and Ashford (Junctions 8- 9) was 18,500 eastbound and 18,400 westbound.
