Question: If he will comment on his policy in respect of the need for community hospitals; and if he will comment on the future of Kelling Hospital, North Norfolk.

Answer: Sir Ralph Howell: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on his policy in respect of the need for community hospitals; and if he will make a statement on the future of Kelling hospital, north Norfolk. [6739] Mr. Horam: Community and other small hospitals continue to have an important role in today's modern national health service. However, there is no national blueprint setting out the way in which services should be provided. Each health authority must decide the best configuration of services based on their own individual circumstances.
