Question: If he will comment regarding compensation to those companies which have lost business in the meat industry. (Failed OPQ)

Answer: Mr. Michael J. Martin: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement regarding compensation to those companies which have lost business in the meat industry.[30106] Mr. Robertson: The Government have not sought to provide compensation for any individual or company that has lost business. The package of measures introduced is designed to provide support to the vital parts of the beef chain to help restore consumer confidence, and to get the whole sector moving again.
