Mr. David Atkinson: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on his current forecasts for the principal economic indication over the medium term.[28512] Mr. Waldegrave: Illustrative projections for economic growth and inflation over the medium term are given in table 3.9 of the 1996-97 "Financial Statement and Budget Report", which show output growing at a rate of 2 3/4 per cent. to 3 per cent., whilst underlying inflation falls to 2 per cent.
