- What would be estimated numerical effect upon average daily prison population in Scotland if periods of remission of one-third to one-half specified in Section 1 of Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993 were reduced to 15% as suggested by Sec of State for Scotland in October 1995; and what would be effect were reduced to 15% (if earned by good behaviour) and what additional capital costs and additional annual running costs would be if said periods of remission were to be replaced by a period of remission of 15% (if earned by good behaviour). - No figures given. Includes fact that Govt will publish White Paper next year including assessment of effects of proposals upon prisons.
