- Further to 507 c451 & 129 c595-6W (statement that coniferous afforestation can damage landscape & contribute to soil erosion & acidification of rivers & lakes & announcement that approval would not normally be given for new plantings predominantly of conifers in uplands of England) will HMG extend similar protection to uplands of Wales.
