Mr. John Marshall: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about the progress of the Trident programme. [13741] Mr. Arbuthnot: The Trident Programme continues to make good progress and remains on time and within budget. The third submarine of the class, HMS Vigilant, has been commissioned and is engaged in work-up and trials prior to entering service. The fourth boat, Vengeance, remains under construction and is due to enter service early in the next century.
