Question: If he will consult the local authority associations on the arrangements for persons appointed by local authorities to sit on outside bodies, being indemnified for their costs in legal actions relating to such bodies. (Failed OPQ).

Answer: Mr. Campbell-Savours: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consult the local authority associations on the arrangements for persons appointed by local authorities to sit on outside bodies being indemnified for their costs in legal actions relating to such bodies. [12528] Mr. Curry: The Government have no plans to consult the local authority associations on this matter but will, of course, consider any representations that they may wish to make.
