Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will list the actions taken by the Procurement Executive to implement smart procurement measures.

Answer: Mr. Key: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the actions taken by the Procurement Executive to implement smart procurement measures. [21124] Mr. Spellar: MOD is undertaking a fundamental and rigorous review of its procurement policies, procedures and practices. I have instituted wide consultation within MOD, well beyond the boundaries of the Procurement Executive, and also with Industry. Much work has already been done and I expect that formal recommendations will emerge early in the New Year. It will then be possible to outline the measures to be implemented.
