What proposals he has to ensure that the heavy goods vehicle driving test includes a test using a laden vehicle.
Answer

Mrs. Dunwoody: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what proposals he has to ensure that the heavy goods vehicle driving test includes a test using a laden vehicle. [2645] Ms Glenda Jackson: We are looking very closely at training and testing learner lorry drivers on laden vehicles with a view to issuing a Consultation Paper. I will ensure that copies of such a Paper are put in the House Library and a personal copy is sent to my hon. Friend the Member for Crewe and Nantwich.
