Mr. Austin-Walker: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will assess the work of, and provide financial support for, the Depression Alliance. [20871] Mr. Burns: The Depression Alliance provides information, advice, support and fellowship to all who suffer from depression and their carers and promotes research into the causes and prevention of depression. The Department provides financial support amounting to £33,000 in the current financial year and will provide £89,000 in 1997-98.
