Mr. Jamieson: To ask the Secretary of state for Defence what was the cost to his Department of the service children's boarding schools allowance scheme in the last year for which figures are available. [16119] Mr. Soames: The cost to my Department of boarding school allowance for financial year 1995-96, the last year for which figures are available, was £110.6 million.
