If he will estimate the (a) first year and (b) full year cost of raising the personal income tax allowance in 1997-98 by (i) £175, (ii) £190 and (iii) £200; and if he will estimate in each case the number of individuals who would cease to be liable to pay income tax as a consequence of such a change. - Inc table of available information.
