Mr. Gordon Prentice: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what estimate he has made of the sums allocated tot the Trident programme which are currently (a) committed but unspent and (b) uncommitted. [12416] Mr. Arbuthnot: As at the end of September 1996, £550 million had been committed but not yet spent and approximately £860 million remained uncommitted.
