Question: To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, What proposals he has to improve the accuracy of government statistics. (Failed OPQ). - Inc ref to Statistics: A Matter of Trust.

Answer: Mr. Flynn: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proposals he has to improve the accuracy of Government statistics. [56882] Ms Hewitt: The Government are committed to enhancing the integrity of official statistics. The Green Paper, "Statistics: A Matter of Trust" was published in February and set out options to ensure that official statistics are of assured quality and produced and presented in a way which is free from political interference. In the light of the subsequent consultation exercise, the Government's proposals will be set out in a White Paper.
