To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, If he will comment on plans for the National Year of Reading. - Including ref to website www.yearofreading.org.uk. (Failed OPQ).

Mrs. Organ: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will make a statement on plans for the national year of reading. [48114] Mr. Byers: We are planning to launch the National Year of Reading on 16 September. It will be supported by large numbers of private and public sector organisations, and will be linked to a major media campaign to encourage reading. Detailed information can be found at the National Year of Reading website on www.yearofreading.org.uk.
