Question: To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, what assessment she has made of the conclusions of Taskforce 2000 published on 11th November in respect of her Department's most recent quarterly return on plans and progress towards Year 2000 readiness.

Answer: Mr. Chope: To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what assessment she has made of the conclusions of Taskforce 2000 published on 11 November in respect of her Department's most recent quarterly return on plans and progress towards Year 2000 readiness. [60223] Mr. Foulkes: We value independent assessment of our plans. The Taskforce report notes that the overall programme has slipped by three months from our last return. However, we are confident that all business critical systems will be compliant and business continuity plans in place by the year 2000. The results of the next quarterly review will be announced shortly to the House and copies of DFID's latest quarterly return will be placed in the libraries of the House and published on the Internet.
