Question: Statement on when he will publish good practice advice for local authorities and the police on managing unauthorised camping.

Answer: Mr. Pearson: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions when he will publish good practice advice for local authorities and the police on managing unauthorised camping; and if he will make a statement. [57089] Mr. Raynsford: This Department and the Home Office have worked together to produce joint good practice guidance for local authorities and the police on managing unauthorised camping, based on research carried out by the University of Birmingham. I will be launching the guidance, and the associated research report, on 29 October at a conference organised by the National Association of Gypsy and Traveller Officers in Coventry. Copies of the good practice guidance and the report will be placed in the libraries of both Houses.
