Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, how many members of the Ofwat customer service committees have been appointed. - Includes figures and ref to 'The annual report of the OFWAT National Customer Council and the ten regional Customer Service Committees' in Library.
Answer

Mr. Brake: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions how many members of the Ofwat customer service committees have been appointed. [48889] Angela Eagle: Ten customer service committees have been established and are maintained by the Director General of Water Services under section 28 of the Water Industry Act 1991. Section 28(4) of the Act provides that a customer service committee shall consist of a chairman and such number (not less than ten nor more than twenty) of other members appointed by the Director as he may determine. Details of the membership of each of the committees are contained in `The annual report of the OFWAT National Customer Council and the ten regional Customer Service Committees', copies of which are available in the Library.
