- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what factors underlie the priority which the Government has given to introducing legislation to cover the welfare of greyhounds; if he will provide independently funded vets to attend all greyhound tracks; if he will implement a levy on betting on greyhound racing to provide a fund for improving tracks, veterinary support and greyhound welfare; and what plans he has to implement the recommendations contained in the sixth report of the Home Affairs Committee of Session 1990-91 (HC 463) on the Financing of Greyhound Racing. - Inc ref to Protection of Animals Act 1911; Royal Commission on Gambling 1978.
