Mr. Nigel Jones: To ask the President of the Board of Trade if she will make a statement about her Department's plans to ensure adequate protection of consumers purchasing their funerals in advance. [42053] Mr. Nigel Griffiths: I refer the hon Member to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Hove (Mr. Caplin) on 22 January 1998, Official Report, column 655. The Department is actively discussing this with interested parties.
