Question: To ask the President of the Board of Trade, what progress has been made towards setting a British standard for (a) additived lead replacement fuels and (b) over-the-counter additives for use when leaded fuels are phased out. - (Holding answer 6 April 1998).

Answer: Dr. Michael Clark: To ask the President of the Board of Trade what progress has been made towards setting a British standard for (a) additived lead replacement fuels and (b) over-the-counter additives for use when leaded fuels are phased out. [37990] Mr. Battle: [holding answer 6 April 1998]: The British Standards Institution started working to develop a British Standard for lead replacement petrol in 1996. No British Standard is proposed for over-the-counter additives.
