Mr. Ainger: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what was the cost of transferring the NATO certified test centre for small- calibre ammunition from Cold Meece to Pendine at 1998 prices. [28041] Mr. Spellar: [holding answer 9 February 1998]: The cost of the construction of the NATO certified test centre for small calibre ammunition at Pendine at 1997 prices was £1,008,563. Inflation figures for 1998 are not yet available, so it is not possible to calculate the cost at 1998 prices.
