Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, how many children have been excluded from schools as a result of possession or supply of controlled drugs on school premises in each of the last five years.

Answer: Mr. Clappison: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many children have been excluded from schools as a result of possession or supply of controlled drugs on school premises in each of the last five years. [91134] Mr. Charles Clarke: This information is not currently collected centrally. However, the Department will begin collecting this information in the autumn, for the current school year, 1998-99, as part of the Government's 10-year UK Anti-Drugs Strategy.
