Answer: Lorna Fitzsimons: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what measures are taken to ensure that risk assessments in the Prison Service conform to a uniform approach. [90116] Mr. George Howarth: The Prison Service undertakes risk assessments for a variety of purposes. These need to be based on consistent principles, but responsive to the complexities of individual situations. Arrangements are supported by detailed guidance, defined procedures and standards audit. Prisoners dissatisfied with decisions can make use of the request and complaints procedures.
