To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what plans he has to review the impact of the exchange rate on the British tourist industry; and if he will make a statement.

Sir Robert Smith: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to review the impact of the exchange rate on the British tourist industry; and if he will make a statement. [141853] Miss Melanie Johnson: The Government regularly assess the effects of the exchange rate and all other relevant factors on the UK economy. Developments in individual industries, including tourism, are also closely monitored by both the Treasury and other Departments.
